Friendly paperwork help for truckers
Welcome! Mile Marker Filing handles the boring federal paperwork, like your MCS-150 update and UCR registration, so you can stay on the road. We're a small, private business in Muskego, Wisconsin. Honest prices, real answers, no runaround.

Mile Marker Filing is a private business. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), the UCR Plan, or any government agency. You can file your MCS-150 biennial update yourself for free at motus.dot.gov. You can also file IFTA returns yourself at no service charge through WisDOT's WisCRS system, and apply for a USDOT number or operating authority yourself at motus.dot.gov. My fees are only for the help preparing them. Government fees are separate.

$79 service fee per quarter
Send me your miles and fuel receipts by state. I total them up and prepare your Wisconsin IFTA return. After you approve the numbers, it gets filed in WisDOT's WisCRS system. Any tax owed is paid by you directly to WisDOT; I never handle your tax money. Even a zero-mile quarter must be filed. Due Apr 30, Jul 31, Oct 31 and Jan 31.
Setup: you sign WisDOT form MV2940 and a limited power of attorney. I'll walk you through both.
$269 service fee
Plus FMCSA's $300 application fee, which you pay directly to FMCSA in Motus. FMCSA does not refund it. I prepare your application after you verify your identity and add me as your service provider. You review it, sign the oaths and submit. Your insurance company files your insurance with FMCSA; I don't sell insurance.
BOC-3 process agent filing: add $49. It's filed by an independent FMCSA-listed blanket process agent, not by Mile Marker Filing.
$169 service fee
Number went inactive after a missed biennial update or an out-of-business filing? I prepare the update that turns your existing USDOT number back on, so you keep your history. There's no government fee, and you can do it yourself for free at motus.dot.gov. If your number was placed out of service for safety reasons, a filing can't fix that. I'll tell you before you pay anything.
$15 per month · $149 per year
Or $49 per year as an add-on to any filing service.
A paid reminder service. I track the federal filing deadlines I know of for your company, including your MCS-150 biennial update, your UCR annual registration, and deadlines for any other services you buy from me. Then I email you a reminder before each one is due. Cancel anytime.
Reminders are a courtesy. They don't replace your own legal responsibility to file on time. I don't give legal or tax advice. Government fees are not included. You can track these deadlines and file for free yourself.
Not sure a message is real? Go straight to FMCSA's fraud alerts page. Report imposters to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
No. Mile Marker Filing is a private business, not affiliated with FMCSA, USDOT, the UCR Plan or WisDOT. You can always file free yourself: MCS-150 and USDOT filings at motus.dot.gov (FMCSA), UCR at plan.ucr.gov, and Wisconsin IFTA with WisDOT.
Once we agree on the work, I send you a PayPal invoice. You pay first, then I file. Government fees are passed through at cost with no markup. Partner fees, like the BOC-3 add-on, are listed up front before you pay.
Your company name, USDOT number and the details for the filing (for example, current vehicle and driver counts for an MCS-150). For Motus filings, you add me as your service provider. For IFTA, it's your miles and fuel receipts by state plus the WisDOT setup forms. I never need your password, Social Security number or driver's license.
I answer email within 1 business day. An MCS-150 update is usually prepared within 1 business day after your payment and paperwork are received. After that, government processing times vary and aren't up to me.
Federal filings (MCS-150, UCR, new USDOT/MC, reactivation) work for carriers in any state. IFTA returns are for Wisconsin-based carriers only.
You get a full refund of my service fee if I haven't filed yet. Government and partner fees can't be refunded once they're paid.
Yes. You check every detail and certify it yourself. You know your business best, and the filing is in your company's name.
Email milemarkerfiling@gmail.com with your company name and USDOT number, and tell me what you need a hand with. I'll get back to you personally. Please never send your password, Social Security number, or driver's license; I don't need them. Services are for trucking businesses. By hiring me (accepting my quote by email or paying my invoice), you agree to my Terms of Service.

Invoices are sent via PayPal from Wishful Ventures (the business account used for Mile Marker Filing) for Mile Marker Filing services, only after we've agreed on the work. The charge appears on statements as WISHFUL VENTURES / WISHFULVEN. I never send government-looking notices or letters. If you get a notice that looks official and asks for payment, check it with FMCSA or UCR directly.
